Lithopone 30% DS is an organically coated white pigment made from co-precipitated barium sulfate (BaSO₄) and zinc sulfide (ZnS). It serves as a high-performance white pigment and extender with excellent opacity, brightness, and dispersibility. Used in paints, coatings, plastics, and inks, its low abrasiveness improves processing and can reduce the need for titanium dioxide, while its properties also help reduce lacing and improve the mechanical strength of plastics

Crystal Violet Lactone (CVL) is a crucial leuco dye, a colorless precursor to the vibrant Crystal Violet dye, used primarily in carbonless copy paper and thermal printing to create blue/black images when activated by acid/heat. It's a triphenylmethane dye derivative that changes color (develops color) in response to chemical stimuli (like acids) or physical stimuli (heat, pressure) by opening its lactone ring, making it a versatile reagent for color-forming systems, temperature indicators, and even security markers.

Applications

CVL is suitable for use as a color former in most carbonless paper applications. Main component of blue image formulations. Shading component for black image formulations.

CVL develops a neutral to slightly reddish-blue shade on clay, phenolic resin and zinc salicylate papers. It has has a good light fastness on phenolic resin and zinc salicylate papers and moderate light fastness on clay papers. On phenolic resin and zinc salicylate papers the image fades slightly in shade. On clay papers the image fades towards green.
