Sodium zirconium lactate is an effective cross-linking agent for dispersions of guar and its derivatives to form high-viscosity aqueous gels used in oil well fracturing applications.

Applications
Oil well fracturing fluids
Sodium zirconium lactate is an effective cross-linking agent for dispersions of guar and its derivatives to form high-viscosityaqueous gels used in oil well fracturing applications.
Paints and coatings
Sodium zirconium lactate cross-links the pigments and binders in waterborne paints (e.g., acrylic paints) and printing inks. Glass, metals, fillers and pigments can be treated with Sodium zirconium lactate to give adhesion promotion; to increase compatibility; and tomodify physical properties. Sodium zirconium lactate has the added benefits of no VOC content and low toxicity.
Paper and nonwovensSodium zirconium lactate can be used to modify the surface of paper and synthetic nonwovens to increase hardness and decreasehydrophilicity.
UseSodium zirconium lactate is usually formulated with other ingredients in cross-linking, paint and some coating applications. Thezirconate is usually added as the last ingredient to prevent undesired pre-reactions. The time for gel formation dependson several factors, including: the formulation ingredients; type of polymer; temperature; pH; brine strength; andzirconate concentration.

Cosmetic chemicals are the ingredients, both natural and synthetic, used to create personal care products like makeup, skincare, and fragrances. They are the result of cosmetic chemistry, a field that combines chemical principles with knowledge of skin and hair biology to formulate safe, effective, and appealing products that cleanse, beautify, or alter appearance. Key components include emollients for moisture, surfactants for cleaning, preservatives for freshness, and colorants for appearance.
